Acolyte are back, reinvigorated after a hiatus that allowed us to focus on the all important sophomore release, which we can proudly announce will come out in 2020 with BIG details to be revealed in due course. First things first, we have brought together a new ensemble that pushes forward our cinematic and orchestral sound, with a new guitarist to bring about our reascension…

Recently it was the 10th anniversary of an album we all feel is one of the best sounding records produced in Australia over the last decade. To celebrate this occasion, the team wishes to announce that for the first time since Karnivool’s ‘Sound Awake’ & Dead Letter Circus’ ‘The Warning’ & ‘Catalyst Fire’, Acolyte have managed to bring the very same production team together with a little twist! 

After a monumental gig at the Melbourne leg of PROGFEST 2018, the reviews are in and there's lots to love about Acolyte's new music and their quintessential strong live performance!

"Acolyte were perfectly suited to the Atlantis Stage. Delivering the next set with an epic performance of a handful of their longest songs. This is a band with clear aesthetic visually and a distinct style. A style which for most of the time is crushingly intense. Every member of this band has the ability to play in a multitude of styles however which makes the overall performance very diverse...

This month, we unleashed an 8-minute, epic, prog, filmclip, set in desert dunes and featuring the mesmerising vocals of Morgan-Leigh Brown and an undulating, light and shade track that showcases all the talents of the musicians within for SPACE AND TIME. We are also announcing that throughout September to November, we will be touring it up Australia's East Coast finishing the run in the band's home town, Melbourne. This week ACOLYTE released a very special documentary to the public, taken from the bands first show as a complete unit, the documentary contains close quarter interviews with each member, behind the scenes and special live footage. Shot with a professional 'home video' approach by Gary Robertson of Jarrah Film, the documentary has been making waves both nationally and internationally exceeding all hopes and expectations.

Their team originally reviewed 'Shades of Black' for its release late last year, however have since decided that we are worthy of a full feature & highlight!

'Melbourne's Acolyte come on to (literally) much fanfare and proceed to beguile The Workers Club crowd with their lavish take on progressive rock. Apparently drummer Chris Cameron sprained the ankle on his kicking leg that day and vocalist Morgan-Leigh Brown is suffering a case of tonsillitis this night. Much kudos to both of them for soldiering on through these ailments, but none in the crowd would have guessed and both nail their performances with great aplomb. The lucid lines of keysman David Van Pelt remind one of an Animals-era Rick Wright (from Pink Floyd) and add so much colour, wash and vitality to an already broad palette of sound. This band is at a similar stage to where Figures are: just about ready to explode. In fact, both sound and perform like they are now in need of stadiums to play in.'

The kind and revered team at 'Metal Ignition' recently caught up with team 'Acolyte' just before one of their live shows to discuss their bright future, the past and everything in between.

The band were completely blown away to be greeted by a near packed Evelyn Hotel crowd, cramped up the front, eagerly awaiting their set in the bands home town of Melbourne on Friday night.
